“How to Use Your Materials: Shading and Hatching In this lesson, I'll show you some shading and hatching techniques. Before we start, let me show you some materials that we'll use. The most important one is obviously the sketchbook. I like to use A4 Arteza sketchbook, with a textured paper. I like to use a few different sketchbooks, smaller and bigger, like this one. Some are better for cross-hatching, like with a smoother paper, and this one is good for mixed techniques. What I mean by mixed techniques, is that it gives me more freedom to experiment with shading, hatching, or other types of...”
